Alla Minyar-Beloroucheva
Alla P. Minyar-Beloroucheva, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, History Faculty, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Professor Alla P. Minyar-Beloroucheva is interested in Theory of Translation, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Intercultural Communication. She is the author of numerous books, manuals and articles, editor of the annual collection of proceedings “Spiritual Roots of the Slavonic World”.
Anna Prokhorova
Anna A. Prokhorova, Doctor of Pedagogy, Associate Professor of Ivanovo State University (Russia).
She is a supporter of multilingual language teaching approach and founder of Master’s degree program «Teaching Languages in Multilingual Educational Environment». The main fields of her research and professional interest include multilingual didactics, acquisition, and development of multilingual competence, interdisciplinary language sensitive teaching, mediation, and cross-cultural dialogue development. Professor Prokhorova is the author of the book «Multilingual Guide to the English-Speaking World» and other scientific, methodological guidance papers, workbooks, and monographs.
Anne Walker
Dr. Anne Walker began her career teaching young English language learners and for the last 22 years has been a professor of TESOL and teacher educator. She frequently conducts workshops and professional development for English teachers around the world, serves as a consultant for schools to help them improve their English language programs, and works with state and national organizations in the U.S. to improve educational policies for refugee and immigrant children.
Elena Schmitt
Dr. Elena Schmitt is a Professor of Applied Linguistics and Director of the TESOL and Bilingual Education program at Southern Connecticut State University. She has trained hundreds of teachers of English as second and foreign language, teachers in bilingual and dual language settings, and teachers of world languages at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Schmitt has done research in the areas of first language attrition, classroom interaction, assessment, and use of technology in language teaching. Her work has been presented at international and national conferences and published in top journals in the field, including Bilingualism: Language and Cognition, International Journal of Bilingualism, International Journal of Slavic Linguistics, Journal of College Reading and Learning, CALICO Journal among others. Dr. Schmitt has organized international collaborative experiences between faculty and students in Vietnam, Spain, and Puerto Rico. Elena speaks Russian as her native language, English, French and some Japanese.
Irina Tverdokhlebova
Irina Tverdokhlebova – language teacher, educationalist, material-writer & methodologist, Editor-in Chief of the all-Russia professional journal “Foreign Languages at School”, Associate Professor & Head of Russian and Foreign Languages Chair at MGRI (Russian State University for Geological Prospecting). Her journey into the teaching profession started with utter fascination for the sound form of the language, followed by in-depth studies of culture and methodological research into cultural aspects of foreign language communication, including business and professional communication.
Jennifer Uhler
Jennifer Uhler is the Regional English Language Officer, whose office supports programs promoting quality English teaching and learning in Russia. Jennifer has taught in various U.S. and international settings as a teacher and teacher educator. Her professional interests include technology, content-based instruction, and language policy.
Ken Haseley
Ken Haseley is founder and principal of Corner Suite Communications, a firm that helps professionals assess and improve one of their most important, yet frequently ignored, skill sets – communicating effectively through the spoken word. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and government from Kent State University and an MBA from the University of Dallas. He has lectured at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and Ivanovo State University. Also, Ken developed and teaches Communications for Leaders in the Executive MBA program at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He is a published writer whose work has appeared in publications such as Fortune, Vital Speeches of the Day, Moscow Times and the Houston Business Journal. His first book (Change the Way You Communicate: Why You Should. How You Can) was published in 2021. Book #2 (Oh No! Not PowerPoint: Relax, Help Is on the Way. A PowerPoint Repair Manual) is in the works.
Olga Karpova
Olga M. Karpova, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of Lexicographic Research Center at Ivanovo State University (Russia); got her Candidate and Doctor Degrees in Leningrad University (1978, 1991) and is the founder of Ivanovo Lexicographic School where she trained 35 Doctors of Philology and organized 13 international schools on lexicography. She is a project leader of the dictionary «Florence in the Works of World Famous People», created under the auspices of Italian Cultural Foundation Romualdo Del Bianco, organized 13 international students’ workshops in Florence. Professor Karpova specializes in theory and practice of English lexicography with special reference to cultural heritage and authors’ dictionaries. She is the author of 26 books and 400 articles. Olga Karpova is a member of International Society for Historical Lexicology and Lexicography (UK) and National Association of Applied Linguistics, with two Verbatim Awards from EURALEX (1993, 1997).
Pamela Dzunu
Pamela Dzunu is a Legal English Consultant with more than 15 years experience teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and more than 25 years experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Pamela was the initial Coordinator of Legal English Programs at Washington University School of Law, where she oversaw and taught courses in the Intensive Legal English Program and the Two-Year LLM Program. Both of these programs provide specialized English support to new international non-native English speakers beginning studies at WashU Law School. Pamela also established and directed the Center for Academic Support and Legal English at WashU Law. She is the immediate past chair of the ESP Interest Section at TESOL International Association and has frequently presented at the TESOL International Convention and other international conferences on Legal English and EAP. Pamela has masters degrees in Legal Studies, TESOL, and Intercultural Studies. In addition to Legal English, Pamela has also taught courses in Business English, English for Architecture, and Intercultural Communication.
Svetlana Manik
Svetlana A. Manik, Doctor of Philology, Director of the Institute of Humanities of Ivanovo State University (Russia), with more than 25-year experience of teaching English and researching as a member of Ivanovo Lexicographic School of prof. Karpova. Her professional field of expertise includes Corpus Lexicography (she initiated a big educational project Corpus Week in 2020 and 2021 to promote students’ awareness of corpora studies and options for education and research); LSP Lexicography (mostly political dictionaries); IT in education; distant learning. She is the author of over 100 research papers. She regularly takes part in IVELTA workshops and professional development courses for English teachers of Ivanovo and Ivanovo region to share her experience and improve English programs and teaching methods to meet emerging needs of the ‘digital natives’.
Svetlana Oulassevitch
Ed.D. Svetlana Oulassevitch began her career in Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), where she ended up teaching for more than 15 years. She left MGIMO in 1987 and in 1991 founded her own educational company – RELOD (which stands for: “Russian and English Languages Open Doors”).
RELOD’s mission is to promote Russia’s and Russian citizens’ economic and cultural development by providing access to the best educational platforms and global information sources. Svetlana Ter-Minasova
Dr. Prof. Svetlana Ter-Minasova is one of the leading foreign language specialists and teachers, who has built up a formidable international reputation. She has made a great contribution to the development of international understanding through her enthusiastic promotion of foreign languages teaching.
At present Prof. Svetlana Ter-Minasova is President of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Professor Emeritus.Svetlana Ter-Minasova has published over 200 books and papers on Foreign Language Teaching, Linguistics and Cultural Studies and has lectured widely throughout the world.
Since 1989, she has been the founding President of both National Association of Applied Linguistics (NAAL, Russia), an affiliate of the International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA), and the founding President of National Association of Teachers of English (NATE, Russia), a collective member of the International Associations TESOL (the USA) and IATEFL (the UK).
Svetlana Ter-Minasova holds the Lomonosov Award, Fulbright’s 50th Anniversary Award, and was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Birmingham in the UK, the State University of New York in the USA, the Russian-Armenian University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (China). She is a member of IAFOR International Advisory Board.
Her academic interests embrace syntax, morphology, lexicology, lexicography, stylistics, theories and methods of FLT, Russian studies, cultural studies, cultural anthropology, intercultural communication.
Woden Teachout
Dr. Woden Teachout is a professor in the interdisciplinary doctoral program at Union Institute & University. She earned a BA, an MA, and a PhD in American Studies from Harvard University and an additional MA in Education from Union with a focus on teaching academic writing. She is a two time Fulbright scholar and has won multiple teaching prizes, including the Alan Heimert Teaching Prize at Harvard and Union’s Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. She and her work have been featured in the New Yorker, the Wall Street Journal, US News and World Report, and C-SPAN Book TV. Her most recent research explores adult education and progressive education models as applied to the teaching of academic writing. She works frequently with the American Councils on International Education and has worked with universities in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Central Asia on curriculum revision, faculty development, and student writing support.
